Oak Knoll Country Club

This course and the management is completely terrible. No golf carts when you show up for 8:30-9am tee time. If you are lucky enough to get a golf cart it will most likely run out of charge before the turn. You will wait to tee off until 45 minutes after your scheduled tee time because they are “squeezing in three and foursomes that don’t have tee times”. An 18 hole round will take 6+ hours. And for the price, Carter Plantation is ten more dollars. Oh yeah, and no cart girl with refreshments while waiting an ungodly amount of time on each hole. Will not be back.

This may be the worst course I have ever played on. The greens were patchy (actually had a putt hit a rough spot and bounce an inch off the ground and stop well short of where it should have), the fairways were hard as concrete and the rough grass was non-existent. I am truly blown away they are charging $57 with tax to play 18 at the afternoon rate for a course in this shape. Talking with some of the other players they said the course is in better shape than it was and the old groundskeeper is back and getting course cleaned up. I'll adjust a review if I dare to play there again and the course looks more playable. I have also never played anywhere that let a foursome play out of one bag. Killed the flow of play. I initially had thought about joining as prices were reasonable but after seeing and playing this course, hard pass. Driving range was terrible as well. No yardage markers to know how you are hitting and on one of the holes (which ever one runs along the backside of the range) is littered with range balls since the range here is so short, so good luck finding yours if you hit it near the stop zone. 2 stars because staff was friendly and helpful. Course playability and appeal....0 stars.

Played here mid March. The staff is really friendly and the rates are very affordable. The course is really open and fun to play. This is a amateur golfers dream due to not being very challenging except the blind par 3 that was crazy. Now the bad. The course is in pretty bad shape. Tee boxes and greens are sandy. Putting on a straight line is near impossible. I did have fun playing this course though which is why I gave 3 stars and not 1.

Recently, had lunch here for a Chamber event and a steak dinner as part of a fundraiser, and both were fantastic experiences. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the portion was outstanding. It's a nice area with nice views despite a bit of construction going on. Can't wait to see the upgrades to the pool area. Very friendly staff too.
